I took magnesium in capsule form for DECADES. Faithfully. Like a responsible adult who drinks water and pretends to stretch. And honestly? I felt zero difference. No noticeable change in sleep, no reduction in migraines, no faster recovery after the gym, no reduction in cramps. No “ahhh” moment for my muscles. No relief from tension or stress. Just… a pill I kept taking because I was told to.

Then I stumbled upon an ionic liquid magnesium.

And for the first time, I ACTUALLY noticed something, and fast!

Not in a placebo, wishful-thinking way. In a “wait… my body feels different” way.

So what changed?

The Problem Isn’t Magnesium. It’s How We Take It.

Magnesium itself is amazing. It’s involved in hundreds of processes in your body. The issue is how efficiently your body can use what you swallow.

Here’s the part most people aren’t told:

Capsules and tablets have to be:

  1. Broken down by your stomach

  2. Dissolved by stomach acid

  3. Released into your gut

  4. Then absorbed

That’s a lot of steps. And here’s the kicker: as we get older (hello, 40+ club 👋), digestion changes. Stomach acid tends to drop. Digestion slows down. A lot of people take meds that mess with absorption. So even if you’re taking “a good form” of magnesium, your body might not be getting much of it.

Liquid magnesium skips a big part of that struggle.

Because it’s already dissolved, your body doesn’t have to work as hard to access it. The magnesium is available right away, instead of waiting for a capsule to open and break down properly in your gut. For a lot of people, that one difference is enough to finally feel the benefits they were promised all along.

As we age, a few boring-but-real body changes kick in:

1) Lower stomach acid A lot of people over 40 produce less hydrochloric acid. That matters because capsules/tablets rely on stomach acid to break down and dissolve the magnesium salt so it can be absorbed later in the small intestine. Less acid = less dissolution = less magnesium actually available.

2) Slower digestion Gastric emptying and intestinal transit slow down with age. Capsules can move along before they fully dissolve, especially if you take them with meals or fiber. Translation: some of that magnesium never gets a fair shot at absorption. This is far worse if you happen to be taking a GLP-1

3) Meds that mess with absorption Common over 40 meds (PPIs for reflux, antacids, some diuretics, metformin) reduce mineral absorption. Capsules take the hit harder than liquids because they’re more dependent on digestion doing its job perfectly.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

If you’ve ever said:

  • “Magnesium doesn’t really do anything for me”

  • “I tried it and didn’t notice a difference”

  • “Supplements never seem to work on me”…it might not be you. It might be the delivery method.

Your body isn’t a spreadsheet. It’s not just about what’s on the label. It’s about what actually makes it into your system in a usable way.

That’s why for Headzen we only manufacture the most natural concentrated liquid magnesium that contains trace minerals. Extracted from the brines of the pristine lakes in the USA through a 2 year solar evaporation process. No additives, not mixed with water, no additional ingredients, no capsules........PURE how mother nature created it.

Not because magnesium is trendy. Not because we wanted another product to sell. But because I lived the frustration of doing “the right thing” for years and feeling no payoff.

When I switched to liquid magnesium and actually noticed results, it clicked: people don’t need more supplements. They need supplements their bodies can use.

If You’ve Tried Magnesium Before and Gave Up or aren't noticing a difference…

You don’t have to swear off magnesium forever. You might just need to change how you take it.

If capsules never did anything for you, trying a liquid form is one of the simplest, lowest-effort upgrades you can make for your body.

Worst case? You confirm magnesium still isn’t your thing. Best case? You finally understand why people rave about it.

And honestly? That “ohhh, now I get it” moment is worth the experiment.
